1, Ngữ âm (Phonetics) bao gồm Phát âm (Pronunciation) và Trọng âm (Stress). Học sinh sẽ lựa chọn từ vựng có cách phát âm phần gạch chân hoặc trọng âm khác biệt so với những từ còn lại

2, Từ vựng và ngữ pháp (Vocabulary and Grammar). Dưới dạng trắc nghiệm khách quan, học sinh sẽ lựa chọn 1 trong 4 phương án A, B, C, D thích hợp nhất để điền vào chỗ trống. Các câu hỏi sẽ xoay quanh từ vựng, cấu trúc câu, cụm danh – động từ, câu điều kiện,…

Bài tập tự luận của phần này chủ yếu sẽ thuộc phần chia động từ/ chọn dạng đúng của từ cho trước trong ngoặC, Để làm tốt các câu hỏi tự luận này, học sinh phải nắm vững kiến thức ngữ pháp. Đặc biệt là các thì, các cấu trúc căn bản như câu bị động, câu gián tiếp,…

3, Bài đọc (Reading). Bao gồm một bài đọc ngắn và một bài đọc dài hơn. Bài đọc ngắn có dạng trắc nghiệm chọn đáp án; bài đọc dài sẽ trả lời câu hỏi ngắn dạng tự luận.

4, Bài viết (Writing): Bao gồm bài Viết lại câu với từ cho trước (sao cho không thay đổi nghĩa của câu) và Hoàn thành câu

Alexander Fleming was born in 1881 in Scotland. He went to a small school in a village, and when he left school he didn't go to university. He worked for five years in an office. But his brother, Tom, was a doctor and helped Fleming to go to university and study medicine. So he went to London University and in 1906 he became a doctor. In 1915, Fleming married Sarah McElroy, an Irish woman. They had one son. During the First World War, many soldiers died in hospital because they didn't have the right medicines. So after the war, Fleming tried to find a drug that could help them. He worked for many years and in 1928 he discovered a new drug and he called it "penicillin". He later worked with an Australian and a German scientist to develop a drug that doctors could use. In 1945, they won the Nobel Prize in medicine for their work on penicillin.
